This is one crazy and cool, overly complicated mechanism for the sole purpose of entertainment and to make noise…And we all enjoy watching gears turn and marbles running around in circles making noise. There are sixteen gears hand-cut from ½” Baltic Birch plywood driven by an electric gear reduction motor, and the mechanism moves 5/8 steel bearings at the rate of 7200 per hour. The bearings run in all different directions but, first they drop into a vortex funnel. Watch this marble machine in action, in the video below!
